I found a new, cool store online. A+R is British ex-pat Andy Griffith, a former film editor and self-avowed design junkie, and Rose Apodaca, a pop culture and style journalist. There are to many cool things out there and too little money in my wallet.
Designer Alessandro Esteri’s soft moleskin-like notebooks, one for each month of the year, each one demarcated by a tiny punch hole. So the first notebook features a single hole, the second book has two holes and so on, all the way up through 12. Blank pages make them ideal for artists, architects and doodlers of all ages.
Never misplace your pencil again. With Suck U.K.’s clever notebook, a pencil is always at-the-ready: Right inside the book nestled in its very own cut-out channel.
Just carve or scratch your own message with a key or knife on this wooden postcard. Soft and lightweight solid wood, easy to scratch in your design and easy to post.
Sycamore Street Press, run by Kirk and Eva Jorgensen from the Mountain West, is dedicated to combining fresh designs, sustainable methods, and the vintage charm of letterpress printing. They use a beloved hand-cranked letterpress and Eva does the quirky little drawings. I love the humour in them and they look amazing.
I’m a big fan of Studio On Fire, a friend of mine at work, the fantastic Jodie, showed me their website when I needed some printing inspiration and since then I always come back to them for more. Their work is amazing, you have to check them out.
Everyone is going on about cupcakes, I find myself buying stupidly expensive cupcake cups as presents, decorate them at parties and buying them at markets in London. Why? Because they are so darn pretty. As for taste I prefer muffins any day, they taste a hundred times better. But I can’t deny that cupcakes are better looking. If I were to switch my diet to cupcakes though, I know where I would get them, at Whiskie Bits. They look gorgeous but do check out the website, the flavours are even better.
Found this awfully pretty porcelain and I just have to share. It is so thin I can hardly believe it. It is made by gleena, founded in 2002 by Asya Palatova, “gleena” means “clay” in Russian. All gleena tableware pieces are porcelain and are handmade by Asya in her studio in Pawtucket, RI.
I want chocolate! Yummy, dark chocolate. Couldn’t resist making a small collection…
The first two is by Mary and Matt, the third is a delicious design by nendo and the fourth and fifth by summerbird. I want to make hot chocolate from a chocolate stick… YUM!
Have I mentioned that I love Design House Stockholm? I can never afford to buy anything there but they sell the most amazing things from the best designers in the country. Now that I think about it I have actually bought a key-ring there once… Now they have added a new up and coming designer to the list, Anna Bonnevier with her clothing collection Numb. A wonderful collection with soft playful clothes all in black, clothes for women who wants to wear art and design on their body. The collection recently won the Swedish Design Award. Did I say that I want it?
This is the best idea I have seen in ages! So simple, so beautiful. Why, I can’t help wondering, has no-one thought of this before? And if they have, why has no-one told me?
Jessica Jones is the lady with the fabulous idea, check her out here!
I also think you should pop by this site and tell that special someone what you love them more than…
Today I saw an ad I and Bruce made for Virgin in the Metro. It’s probably going to be everywhere soon, shame that it was such a rush job and I can’t be really proud of it. But hey, it is a thrilling feeling to see my stuff in the paper!
